Synopsis

When an irreverent nightclub singer (Whoopi Goldberg) witnesses a gangland murder, she heads to the last place anyone would think of looking for a hip lounge singer - a convent!

Before long, the new "Sister Mary Clarence" has a gig as leader of the sisters' choir - and the convent has more soul than it bargained for!
