Synopsis

When a comet & an asteroid collide in outer space, the resulting explosion throws two giant meteors towards Earth. While the smaller first one breaks up into a meteor shower causing only minor damage on Earth, the second rock is the "size of Texas" and will wipe-out all life on the planet unless it is destroyed. In the short amount of time available to them, NASA decides to sent a group of seasoned crack oil drillers into space via two shuttles in order to plant nuclear devices in the surface of the meteor and blow-it up. The only problem : these men are not astronauts, they've never been in space and they're all we've got.
