The Walt Disney Studios

The Walt Disney Studios is the foundation on which The Walt Disney Company was built more than eighty-five years ago. The Walt Disney Company and its affiliated companies have remained faithful to their commitment to produce unparalleled entertainment experiences based on the rich legacy of quality creative content and exceptional storytelling. The Walt Disney Company, together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, is a leading diversified international family entertainment and media enterprise with four business segments: media networks, parks and resorts, studio entertainment and consumer products.

One of the world's most iconic film studios, Walt Disney Pictures is home to some of the greatest animated and family films ever made, this includes animated classics such as: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Song of the South, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, Jungle Book and The Rescuers. Live-action favourites include: Mary Poppins, Treasure Island, Old Yeller, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the Swiss Family Robinson.

Starting in 1995, Walt Disney Pictures' association with Pixar Animation Studios (purchased by Walt Disney in 2006) produced enormously successful CGI animated family films such as: Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Cars, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Toy Story 3 and Cars 2. The magic continues in 2012 with Brave.

Marvel Entertainment

In 2009, The Walt Disney Company purchased Marvel Entertainment, giving it access to numerous new characters and story-lines. Upcoming films such as The Avengers, Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 will be distributed through the Walt Disney Pictures banner.

DreamWorks Pictures

On February 2009, DreamWorks Pictures entered into a long-term, 30-picture distribution deal with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures by which film produced by DreamWorks Pcitures will be released through the Touchstone Pictures banner over the next five years. However, this deal does not include rights to DreamWorks Animation, which is a completely separate corporate entity from DreamWorks Pictures and has different distribution deals.
